Terms of service

Last updated 7 October 2026

Baker is a teaching assistant you text. These terms are the deal between you and us when you use it. We've kept them short and plain. By signing up or texting Baker, you agree to them.

Baker is a product of Maziwa LLC, a Wyoming, USA limited liability company ("we", "us"). Contact: hello@textbaker.com.

1. Who can use Baker

Baker is for teachers and other adults who work with children. You must be 18 or over. Baker is not for pupils, and you shouldn't let children text it or use your account.

2. Your account

3. Free resources and your plan

4. Cancelling

5. Messages from Baker

Baker replies to your texts. Now and then it may also check in first, for example if you've gone quiet or your free messages have run out. That's at most three nudges, only on weekdays in the daytime. Text STOP and Baker won't message you again unless you text it first. Your normal message and data rates may apply.

6. Using Baker well

Baker makes resources for teaching: worksheets, quizzes, stories, songs, lesson ideas and the like. Please don't:

If a pupil discloses something that worries you, follow your school's safeguarding policy and speak to your Designated Safeguarding Lead. Baker isn't a safeguarding service.

7. What Baker makes

8. Your information

We keep what Baker needs to help you (your messages, your class details and what you've made) and we use it to run and improve Baker. Our Privacy policy explains exactly what we keep and why, where it's stored, and how to have it deleted.

9. Keeping Baker running

We work hard to keep Baker available, but we can't promise it will never be down or slow. We may change or improve what Baker does. If we make a change that takes away something important you're paying for, we'll tell you first and you can cancel.

10. Ending things

You can stop using Baker whenever you like. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts other people at risk. If we close your account for reasons that aren't your fault, we'll refund any unused paid time.

11. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits anything the law doesn't allow us to limit, including your rights as a consumer. Apart from that, Baker is provided "as is", and our total liability to you is limited to what you've paid us in the 12 months before the problem. We aren't liable for indirect losses, like lost time or lost data.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change matters, we'll let you know before it takes effect. If you keep using Baker after that, you're accepting the new terms.
