Tomorrow's lesson, planned. Sunday night, sorted.
Text Baker what you're teaching and get back a clear plan for your class: objective, starter, main activity, differentiation by group, plenary and resources. The matching worksheet comes from the same chat.
The lesson is in your head. The plan isn't on paper.
The Sunday-night dread
The weekend's nearly gone and Monday's lessons still need writing up. You know roughly what you'll teach. Getting it into a plan is the bit that keeps you up.
The cover lesson
You're out tomorrow and someone else needs to pick up your class. The plan has to make sense to a person who has never met them.
Three groups, one plan
The objective is the easy part. Working out what the support group, the core and the quick finishers each do is where the evening goes.
Baker turns one text into the plan you'd have written, pitched at your class and split by your groups, with the worksheet to match.
A plan from someone who knows your class.
A plan is only useful if it fits the room. Baker keeps the details you'd tell a new colleague and builds every plan around them.
Every part of the lesson, in order
Objective, starter, main activity, differentiation, plenary and resources. The same clear headings every time, so you can glance at it mid-lesson.
Starter, then the main task, then a quick plenary. Resources are listed at the end.Differentiation by your groups
Tell Baker who needs support and who needs stretch once. Every plan after that splits the main activity by your groups, using the names you gave them.
Ten frames for the red group, the main sheet for most, and a challenge card for the blue table.Your year group and curriculum
Your phone number tells Baker where you teach, so year names and curriculum line up from the first text. It remembers where your class is up to.
Your Year 4s finished column addition last week, so this one starts subtraction. The worksheet comes too
The plan says "worksheet". Ask, and Baker sends it in the same chat, matched to the plan, with an answer page at the back.
can you send the worksheet for the main activity as wellA plan you can teach from.
Here's the shape of what Baker sends back, as a print-ready PDF.
- Objective
- Recognise and find a half and a quarter of a shape and a small set of objects.
- Starter
- Fold paper squares in half, then in half again. What do you notice about the pieces?
- Main activity
- In pairs, share counters onto two and then four plates. Record each one on the worksheet.
- Differentiation
- Red group: shapes only, with fold lines drawn. Most of the class: the main worksheet. Blue table: challenge card with odd numbers to puzzle over.
- Plenary
- Show a pizza cut into four unequal pieces. Is each piece a quarter? Thumbs up or down, then explain.
- Resources
- Paper squares, counters, paper plates, the worksheet, challenge cards.
An example of the layout. Baker writes each plan fresh for your class.
Text it the way you'd say it.
Subject, topic and when you're teaching it is plenty. Baker fills in the rest from what it knows about your class.
A plan for your room, not a room like yours.
A real lesson plan Baker made for tomorrow.
Not a mock-up. We texted Baker as a test teacher, and this is exactly what came back, pictures and all. Open the PDF and print it.

Done. Hour's worth, starter to plenary, with a build-it task, a map task and a write-up, so your three groups each get their own job.

Questions about lesson plans.
What's in a Baker lesson plan?
An objective, a starter, the main activity, differentiation by group, a plenary and a list of resources, laid out as a print-ready A4 PDF. Ask for anything else you need, like timings or key vocabulary, and it's added in a new version.
Does it follow my curriculum?
Your phone number sets the country, so year names and curriculum line up from the first text (the UK, Ireland, the US, Australia, New Zealand and Sri Lanka). Tell Baker your scheme or where your class is up to and it plans from there. Plans aren't officially approved by anyone, so read them as you would any plan.
Can it differentiate for my groups?
Yes. Tell it once who needs support and who needs stretch, using first names or group labels. Baker saves that and splits the main activity by those groups in every plan after.
Will it make the worksheet too?
Yes. Ask in the same chat and Baker sends the worksheet for the main activity, matched to the plan, with an answer page at the back. It can do versions for different groups too.
Can I get it in Word or my school's template?
No. Baker sends PDFs only, in its own layout. Changes come by text: reply with what you want different and a new PDF comes back.
How much does it cost?
Your first resource is completely free: no card, no account, just text. After that the Baker plan is $20 USD a month for unlimited messages. Text PLAN any time to see the details.
How do I cancel?
Text CANCEL and confirm. You keep Baker until the end of the month you've paid for and you won't be charged again. Changed your mind? Text KEEP.
Is it safe to text about my pupils?
Use first names or group labels ("the blue group"). Baker won't store surnames, medical or special-needs details, and it says so if you send them. The full detail is in our privacy policy.
