A song for it by morning. Sung by lunch.
Times tables, phonics sounds, days of the week, science facts and routines, written for your class to a tune everyone already knows, with actions if you want them. Sent back as a printable lyric sheet with the tune named at the top.
You know a song would make it stick. Writing one is the hard part.
The fact that won't stay put
The class have chanted the three times table all week and it still falls out of their heads by Friday. A song would do it, if you had one.
The song you can't find
There's a song for nearly everything online, just not for this sound, this fact, at this level, to a tune you can actually sing on the spot.
The rhyme that won't scan
You start writing your own. Line two doesn't fit the tune, nothing rhymes with "photosynthesis", and it's nearly ten o'clock.
Baker writes the words for you, to a tune your class already knows, so you can sing it the moment it lands.
Everyone already knows the tune. That's the trick.
No one has to learn a new melody. The class only learns the words, and the words are the bit you're teaching.
Tunes everyone already knows
Twinkle Twinkle, The Wheels on the Bus, Frère Jacques. Baker writes new words to a tune you can hum without thinking, and names it on the sheet.
It's to Frère Jacques, so it works as a round once they're confident.Written for what you're teaching
The sound your class is on, the times table you're drilling, this week's science fact. Baker knows your year group and keeps the words at their level.
Your class is on the 3s, so the chorus counts up to 36 and back.Actions built in
Every verse comes with simple actions: clap, stamp, point, wiggle. Moving while they sing helps the words stick and gets wriggly bodies on board.
The actions are on the sheet. Stamp on every new number.A lyric sheet you can print
A clean A4 PDF: title, the tune named at the top, verses and chorus laid out clearly. Put it under the visualiser or send copies home.
perfect, printing one for the board and one for the parentsA lyric sheet, ready to sing.
Here's the kind of thing Baker sends back. Words on a page, the tune named, actions to do as you sing.
Verse 1
Three, six, nine, twelve and fifteen,
Eighteen, twenty-one, we've seen.
Clap on every number.
Verse 2
Twenty-four and twenty-seven,
Thirty, then it's thirty-three,
Thirty-six! Now give a cheer!
Stamp on each number, cheer on the last line.
An example of the layout. Baker writes each song fresh for your class.
Text it the way you'd say it.
Say what it's for and, if you like, which tune. Baker picks one if you don't.
Words that fit the tune and the lesson.

Questions about songs.
Does Baker send the music?
No. Baker sends a lyric sheet as a PDF, with no audio. Each song is written to a tune everyone already knows, like Twinkle Twinkle or Frère Jacques, and the tune is named at the top, so you can sing it straight away.
I can't sing. Will this work for me?
If you can hum Twinkle Twinkle, yes. That's the point of using tunes everyone knows: nobody has to learn anything new except the words.
Can I pick the tune?
Yes. Name the tune in your text, or leave it to Baker and it picks a well-known one that fits the words. Ask for a different tune any time.
What can the songs be about?
Times tables, phonics sounds, days of the week and months, science facts, topic vocabulary and classroom routines like tidy-up time or lining up. If you can say it, Baker can usually set it to a tune.
Do the songs come with actions?
Ask for them and simple actions are written on the lyric sheet. Ask for more, fewer or different ones and you get a new version.
How much does it cost?
Your first resource is completely free: no card, no account, just text. After that the Baker plan is $20 USD a month for unlimited messages. Text PLAN any time to see the details.
How do I cancel?
